Customizing vehicles since 1984
My overall favorite car: 1978 VW Scirocco GTI
I have had a lot of vehicles, so I made a video:
I first purchased this car (completely stock) in 1988. I drove it for about 2 years before taking it completely apart and rebuilding it. It received a new interior, custom paint, suspension, brakes, rebuilt transmission with custom gears, and a new engine—a 1984 GTI block with a ported/polished intake manifold and European exhaust system. Although these upgrades pushed it out of the ITB category, and 130hp couldn’t keep up with GTB cars, it still earned 2 second-place trophies and a first-place trophy in the show car class. It was even featured in VW TRENDS magazine! Today, it enjoys a relaxing retirement cruising the streets of the Bay Area.
